Artist's Description

“MUSIC WASHES AWAY FROM THE SOUL,
THE DUST OF EVERYDAY LIFE”.

~Berthold Auerbach

This is another street musician in Exeter, Devon (a city in the south of England). He was singing some wonderful lilting and lively Irish songs that put skip in my step!!

There is so much historic medieval architecture in this city even though a lot of it was destroyed with the bombing raids in WW2, there is still a lot to be seen. This area is the Cathedral Close, which has been used as a place of worship since the 4th century and eventually a Saxon Abbey was built. The Abbey became a Cathedral in 1050. Finally in the 13th and 14th Century the Cathedral was rebuilt in the decorated Gothic Architecural style.

I use a Lumix panasonic point and shoot camera with a lecia lens
