Artist's Description

This is my take on the striking marble sculpture, ‘The Harpy Celaeno’ by Mary Pownall Bromet, which is located in Glasgow Museum & Art Galleries in Scotland, UK. Pownall, from Lancashire, England, was a pupil of Rodin. “The Harpy” was first exhibited in Rome in 1902. It’s also referred to as “The Harpy Celsmo.” I’ve subtly painted her lips and nipples in soft pink, given her blue eyes, golden talons and brushed some blonde streaks through her hair. It’s my homage to a great sculptor.
