Artist's Description

A poster for supporters of independence for Scotland from the United Kingdom Westminster government. The photograph shows ‘The Man’ sculpture by Andrew Brown located in the harbour village of Port William on the eastern shore of Luce Bay in Galloway, Scotland. He is a working man with his bonnet and wellington boots, staring out to sea. In the sky is a cloud in the shape of the St Andrew’s Cross from the Scottish flag with the words ’It’s time, Scotland,’ which is a reference to the 2014 referendum when Scots will vote on the nation’s future. On his right is a weathervane in the shape of a man in a little sailing boat. Which direction will Scotland take? I hope it’s self governance.
