The Crown

“In Our Anstey Village – In Our Little Anstey Town”
Happy New Year Eve 2004/5
There lies this nice tavern, a few firkins up yonder hill,
Tis called “The Crown” – In Our Little Anstey Town,
The natives are friendly, at this watering hole of ours, it is quite well renown!

The Landlord who’s name should be kept secret is called Mark,
Who’s bite is really worse than his bark!
So his house is kept in order, very strict and under tight control,
There is nothing gets past old Mark, not a rat or even a mole!
Now this ere’ Landlord has a Landlady, her name is Amanda , bless,
With child, and heavily pregnant with baby, I guess!
She still finds the time to chastise Mark, which turns the air in the tavern blue,
So what more can these jolly two do? Their very good at not watching the telly,
Or reading the newspaper you can tell that, by what Mark has done to Amanda’s belly!

Well this family of three and soon to be four,
They run “The Crown” together, and what a great place, they can’t do much more!
But alas, it’s soon we fear, that Mark and Amanda, are to be changing their current beer!
To a foreign counties they soon shall go, and to leave this comfy tavern of ours,
For larger premises, that have larger bars, for bigger dining areas with a lot more space,
A big vast car park for customers cars, ……………….. Just in case!

What more can an old drunkard say?
Only, ay up mate, make my day and stay!
The service we get from you over the years,
Even comes to mind, in blood sweat and tears!
But hey, yet again, we fear, where’s our beer mats gone? We say in haste,
There is a beer mat eater round and about this place!
Catch that bugger Mark, cause we’ve had enough,
We’ve complained till our throats are sore, and our tongues are really rough!

Well we can’t blame you both for moving on, if it’s on the cards it’s got to be done,
It just leaves us to say, may the next few years to come be very prosperous ones!
Even for Mum! May you both receive what you have wished for, and here’s hoping that all your dreams come true. Good Health For All.
Were thinking Of You!

Thank You for taking on “The Crown”
In Our Little Anstey Town!
