Artist's Description

Who doesn’t love cinnamon and apples in the fall? This is what apple butter looks like before it’s cooked down to the consistency of a tasty toast spread.

Recipe for Apple Butter is as follows:

6 large apples – sliced and cored
1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/4 cup granulated sugar (you can substitute honey)
1/4 cup water (skip this if you use honey)

Cut the apple slices into chunks and add them to your slow cooker. Add all ingredients and stir until well mixed. Cook on LOW for 4-1/2 hours.

Remove contents from slow cooker and puree in a blender. Return pureed mix to the slow cooker.

Cook on HIGH with the lid off for 1-3 hours, until your apple butter is dark brown and the consistency of jam.

Once you reach your desired consistency, allow your slow cooker to cool. Store your apple butter in a resealable container in the refrigerator. Enjoy!
