Love Lost (in cliche)

To know there is a thin line
between love and hate
would have saved my heart
but it is now too late

I had the short end
of an endless stick
I fought to the bitter end
but me she did not pick

I could say it was me, not you
but I cannot tell a lie
it was all your fault
like a baby I did cry

No point in crying
over spilt milk, you see
it is better to be alone
than to wish to be free

I am at the end of my tunnel
yet I do not see a light
love does conquer all
I am love lost tonight

Artist's Description

This poem is about someone who I truly cared for but was unable to have. I sought to be with her but she was already taken.
