New camera

Guess what?! I got a new camera. Hubby surprised me with my new Christmas gift last night. He said he wanted me to have time to practice and learn this one before Christmas. (He was right…I would have gone crazy not knowing how to do the manual settings if I had opened it on Christmas and had to use all Auto settings.) Needless to say, I didn’t get much done last night except practicing with my new camera as we put up our tree and opened my new camera.

It is a Canon EOS Kiss Digital X (Japanes version of the Chinese Rebel XTi or the European EOS 400D). It is so amazing. It even has an Automatic Sensor Cleaning. It is so awesome. It came with a few natural accessories such as charger and one battery and Digital Photo Professional 3.0, and PhotoStitch 3.1. Not only did he buy that, he also bought two more 6 hour batteries (no more 1 hour batteries with my roving 19 month old toddler LOL), a car battery charger (perfect for trips and when just forget to charge it), and a 1GB CF mem card. Can you believe it? I am so excited…I was so worried about not being able to capture Garrett’s 2nd Christmas with my PowerShot Pro1 acting up and not wanting to take pictures at all when you zoomed and sometimes not even just straight without zoom.

Listen to this….with my staying home and 3 out of 6 houses not rented right now, I told him I couldn’t believe he would spend all this money. He told me there were two reasons. 1. He wants to continue getting portraits/snapshots of Garrett growing up, and 2. he knows how much I enjoy photography and capturing Garrett’s life. HOW SWEET IS THAT!!!

Yes, I have had a fabulous camera PowerShot Pro 1 for 3 years now and it has been a FABULOUS camera and I would never have wanted another one except I have worn it out and it doesn’t always take pictures anymore. Sometimes it would do fabulous still and then all of a sudden it would take a blank white screen or have lines going across. I have been so spoiled by him with cameras since we first started dating 7 years ago. God blessed me with a fabulous husband. I was just telling God thank you the other day for a fabulous husband who is being so supportive and agreeing for me to stay at home with our child. I thanked him that I am so fortunate. That is the most important, but this sweet gesture is awesome also.

Does anyone else have this camera? I could use any advice/feedback you have about the camera. I have 30 days to decide from 11/30.

Estatic,
Hazel
