I hiked a little ways up the trail a little bit before dusk. I had scouted out this area last year and knew I had to come back. The waterfalls were flowing very heavy due to the early spring conditions and the Aspens were just starting to get their leaves back.
This photo doesn’t truly capture the magic of the place. I was standing on a large cliff and downstream of this waterfall are a series of beaver dams and lodges. They are only active at dawn and dusk and I was lucky enough to see them gathering twigs and bringing them back to their lodge. I accidentally spooked one and it slapped its tail against the water, startling five nearby deer out of the forest.
