Welcome to my online shop presenting some of my favourite photo images from my travels in Scotland, Ireland, Canada and America. A photographer from Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city, I am descended from a family connected to the sea, mining and farming. At home, I grew up in the cultural mix of Edinburgh city, East Lothian’s fishing community and the Scottish Highlands. Enjoying the outdoors, playing the fiddle and experiencing different cultures – through music and working in tourism, I have studied and worked abroad in Ireland, Italy, Canada and America.

Today, I have a variety of social media sites under my Shona McMillan Celtic Reflections brand. However, from 2006-12, I have also used my creative interests to celebrate the fishing community through photos, music, songs and stories. In Scotland, along the Firth of Forth, my “People and Songs of the Sea” exhibitions have been visited by 12,000 and the CD I produced won Liveireland Compendium Album of the Year 2010. In 2011, I won Creative Project of the Decade from the Irish American News and Radio Liveireland. And, from Culture Sparks, I won the Marketing Impact Award for Scotland. Then, in 2012, my work was selected from 3,000 UK artists and featured on the BBC before I went on to tour Canada and America (April-August) researching the Scots and Irish diaspora for new multimedia projects I will deliver in 2013 and 2014.

I have archives of thousands of photos and I also undertake commissions. So, please do get in touch if you are looking for something as it’s likely I can help you.

Kind regards,

Shona McMillan.
