Artist's Description

Magenta Chakra Mandala

Magenta is said to have been discovered, and given its name, in the late 1700’s. Magenta is defined as “having 2 parts Red and 1 part Blue”. Magenta was/is often observed appearing just beyond Violet (in Sir Isaac Newton’s “Wave Theory” of colour) or, just before Red… seemingly creating a colour or Light Loop (Circular) as opposed to a Rainbow (Linear). Therefore Magenta has been considered both the end, and the beginning of the Light Spectrum, representing the Alpha and Omega- the fullest expression of Divine Love. Magenta contains all the other colors including White Light.

Magenta is seen by most ancient teachings and Great Mystery Schools as the colour of the 8th chakra (The interpretation of the colour of the 8th Chakra does vary from Magenta to a Sea Green/Olive Green which is actually it’s complimentary colour), depending on one’s source of information or tradition, yet today Magenta is more widely identified as being the colour vibration of the 8th Chakra). Connection to this Chakra is said to reveal our reason for incarnating, our Divine Mission, and further supports our energies to actualize it.

Magenta as the color of the 8th Chakra has been referred to as “the Soul Star”, residing just outside the physical body, and above the head. In this sense, Magenta contains or “Soul Blueprint”, otherwise known as our “Akashic Record”. If one views Magenta as preceding the colour Red, it could be said that the Soul descends to the body. Otherwise, if Magenta is seen as following the colour Violet, then the body has ascended to the Spirit.
In terms of its healing properties, Magenta takes you into a field of existence, beyond words and concepts, directly reveling to you your Divine Essence. Within the Light of one’s Essence, many past conditionings and identifications dissolve allowing us to return back to the healthy, joyful, free and liberated river of Life. In the atmosphere and vibration of Magenta, all duality and separation returns back to its initial state of Oneness.
