Artist's Description

this may be a shrub or tree to10 metres high. the flower spikes are about
10-15cm x 8cm. their habitat is usually deep yellow or white sand in tall shrubland and low woodland , mainly in coastal areas but may also be found in some scattered inland localties.

this was a chance find by the roadside. mid afternoon – not a good time for photography.
