We have just spent several days in a caravan near Ullswater (Lake District, UK). The weather was beautiful and neraly every night we had amazing clear skies with 1000’s of stars in the sky which we could see very clearly due to there being no light pollution. I decided to experiment with a long exposure to show star trails. Rather than take numerous c. 5 minute shots and merge them together (which would have been better) I decided to take several very long exposures, this one is 1681 seconds (28 minutes); great fun and expect to see more from my trip to Mull this coming week, weather permitting!
This shot was taken in more or less complete darkness, I could not see through the view finder at all!!!
