Artist's Description

Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F11, shutter speed 1/8 second, ISO100, processed in Photoshop

On Saturday morning I paid a visit to Derwent water, it was an amazing calm morning, when I arrived it was dark. Whilst I waited for the sun to wake up I listened to a lovely dawn chorus provided by robins, song thrushes, wrens and many other birds. The hills on the left in the distance are called the Catbells.

The following is taken from Wikipedia;
The Catbells fell’s unusual name may well have come from a distortion of “Cat Bields” meaning shelter of the wild cat, although this is not certain. The fell’s name is sometimes written as Cat Bells and is so printed on some maps.
