Artist's Description

One of the main reason why we wanted to go to Kent is to visit some of the stunning castles that are in the area such as this one.

Leeds Castle, four miles (6.5 km) southeast of Maidstone, Kent, England, dates back to 1119, though a manor house stood on the same site from the ninth century. The castle and grounds lie to the east of the village of Leeds, Kent.

The last owner of Leeds Castle was the indomitable Lady Baillie who bought the castle in 1926 and employed French interior designers to transform her new home. She dedicated most of her life to the improvement of the Castle and was responsible for setting up the Leeds Castle Foundation. The Castle was opened to the public in 1976.
