Artist's Description

Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 17-70 @ 17mm, F11, shutter speed 1/60 second ISO200, edited in Photoshop

This is a photograph of Downham which is a lovely village located in the Ribble Valley in Lancashire, it is north of Pendle Hill.

The village is part of the Assheton Estate owned by the Lord and Lady Clitheroe, and the owners do not allow overhead electricity lines, aerials or satellite dishes, making the village a popular location for filming period dramas. Downham was one of the locations used in the 1961 film Whistle Down the Wind, and the series Born and Bred, set in the fictional village of Ormston, was also filmed in the village. (Wikipedia)
