What I’ve Sown

In the shadows you come to me
A sadness I’ve never known
The fear of never counting
The fear of the unknown

I brush my lips with tears
And brace myself again
Never really knowing
How the shadows always win

I am reaching for the light
I see it always there
But the shadows pull me back
Saying I am rare

The world reaches out
But briefly ~ never more
And the rages rush around me
Never knowing what’s in store

For the moment I will breath
And cling to what I’ve known
Perhaps these shadowed moments
Are somehow what I’ve sown

What I’ve Sown
