Sunset

She spoke little and I said none.
She sat far while I sat near.
The colours changed,
But we did not.

The sun sank lower, the colours warmed.
She grew closer, but stayed away.
We watched the sun as it watched us
Sitting alone and together.

People might wait, – the sun does not.
Our time was gone forever.
Was there a smile? Was there a nod?
Were we together or was I alone?

Artist's Description

This was inspired by a sunset I watched near my house. There was just me and the girl there watching it. The girl is the one in the picture ‘Silent Silohette’ which I really like.
