Captain Benjamin Shedfield, c. 1815
This young man, an officer of the 11th Light Dragoons in the Waterloo Campaign of the Napoleonic Wars, is smartly outfitted in his dress uniform. The colour of his facings, his sash and his lacing depends upon his division. His felt shako is adorned with a substantial plume and a metal badge; his sword has a curved blade and an iron knuckle-bow.
