Laundry Day

Dress shirts with mustard stains,
“Out! Out damned spot!” I Shout;
Not with words,
But with the spray bottle

Lots of grimy socks –
They smell like corn chips!
One will inevitably
Run away from home

A lacey lavender bra,
My roommates’
(How’d that get in there?)
Its steely underwire chills my skin

I’m wearing shorts – all my pants,
With legs intertwined like passionate lovers,
Writhe within the frothy whirlpool of the tempest tossed;
A gentle draft rakes my leg like a playful beau

Forgive my sins against your cotton goodness,
And wash them away…
