Artist's Description

©Seth F.Weaver,Sr. 02/21/08. A Compullage™ work. This is a story about a poor tribe of Native people that are facing starvation and death from bad weather and bad crops. The wise old shaman comes up with a clever idea to trick the flighty Wind Spirit into blowing some good fortune the tribes way. He proposes a race between the chief’s daughter and the Wind Spirit. Mustering up what little food they can find they feed the girl prior to the race so she’ll have the strength she needs to win. The race is set and the course is hard and long. Every time the Wind feels like it is about to win the girl gains new strength and runs off and leaves it…winning the race in the end. The shaman forgot to tell the Wind that the chief had identical triplet daughters that all could run very fast. So the poor Wind simply ran out of steam (or hot air). 02/23
