Artist's Description

© Seth F. Weaver, Sr. 07/01/15. An overdressed scarecrow stands guarding a spinach patch as brave bunnies leisurely devour the choice greens. His outfit a prank from the farmers children that visited the local thrift store to get clothes to update this silent garden guard. The large Spring Moon is like a spotlight on his grand apparel complete with top hat and white framed sunglasses. His sturdy arms out stretched as if beginning to take a bow. His potato sack head slightly eschew from the violent winter winds noblly dignifies the ensemble with an arrogance completely ignored by the rabbits. What a meager task for someone so grandly dressed he thinks (if he only had a brain!). He can’t move or talk so what does it matter other than the giggles of the children as they walk by. The fireflies constantly buzz him and their blinking lights would enrage a lesser scarecrow, he gulps down his dignity and ignores the aggravation. A Mixed Media Painting: acrylic paints, glazes, Sharpie silver permanent pen, and Photoshop® color tweaking. This was inspired by the great Randy Newman song, “I Think Its Going to Rain Today”
