Artist's Description

Taken at the edge of a dam (reservoir) high up above Farm 215 in the Overberg of South Africa. The water is very brackish due to the highly fertile peat covering this area. It can come as a quite a shock to visitors traveling along The Garden Route for the first time, when they visit the bathroom. A hotelier friend reassures them that it is quite safe to drink, and that dyeing the hair purple is not always permanent! This only after they have just showered before coming to breakfast!

My initial thought for a title was “Gradients – Nature always gets there first”
