Today’s the kind of day
The skies are turning gray
My friendships are coming to an end
My love for them I will defend
Our broken hearts will someday mend
But tomorrows another day of pain and pleasure
The weekend will come that is what I treasure
I’m so tired of the 9 to 5
The bosses lies, I just wanna drive
Go to the beach walk on the sand
Would it be weird if I held your hand
We’ll stay ther till dark and watch the stars
I’ll tell you my secrets you show me your scars
We’ll talk of things that make us laugh
We’ll order cherry pie and split it in half
We’ll talk of the days when we were in school
Sleeping in trees we thought that was cool
But things have changed no time for me and you
There’s babies to raise and dishes to do
So we talk on the phone and chat on line
We laugh and we cry and sometimes we whine
But it’s always good to hear from siblings
Who knows what the New Year brings
Maybe more time for me and you
We’ll have to wait till the sky turns blue
While mine is out fishing what will we do
Maybe go for pie and coffee
That would be good to me
But until the day that we can embrace
I’ll wear a smile on my face
Forget about the times when we were sad
You’re the best sister I could have ever had.
