Moon Landing

the carnage of the moon landing
bled into the universe
a living highway
moonbeams glistening and inviting
off-world children here
living in the moon’s shadow
reeking of moon-dust
smiling moonbeams
tiptoe-ing on moonlight

stringing everyone along on
lithesome streams of silver filament
ready for the photographs and flags
the children sailed in the little green boat
across the moon-milk seas
beaching on the opal shores
brown hands reaching for the off-world babes
their emerald toes dripping pearls

happily they tell their tales
forgetting the minute they are passed along
like moonlit leaves in the autumn
indistinguishable when dropped to the ground

Artist's Description

This concept was inspired by a wonderful image I found. Would dearly love to give the artist credit but I cannot read Cyrillic. At any rate, here is a link to the work that so captured my imagination.

Hope it’s okay to do this.

P.S. Again, technical work needed on this, LOTS. smile
