This verse has created a lot of controversy in my personal life. It was written when I had been upset with a comment made by a person I thought was my friend. This is my poem about my feelings in general about how people (including me) make incorrect presumptions about other people’s intentions. The person behind my writing this verse, thought this was all about them, and took offence and publicly attacked me personally on Facebook. I, however stand by what I have written, which was purely my feelings in general at the time, because I always seem to be in trouble at some time or other with somebody.

Oh Deary Me

Oh dear, here we go again
Looks like I’m in trouble again
Why do you think the worst of me
Oh deary, deary me…

I only want to be your friend
I’d never do anything to offend
I don’t mean to hassle, can’t you see?
Oh deary, deary me…

The written word is so absurd
True emotions can’t be heard
Readers often bark up the wrong tree
Oh deary, deary me…

Instead of believing they mean no ill intent
They take offence where none is meant
Reading more into words than there be
Oh deary, deary me…

Friendships come and friendships go
Like the tide they ebb and flow
But I didn’t set out to make enemies
Oh deary, deary me…

“Do unto others” I believe is true
“As you would have them do unto you”
Take time to see there’s good in me
Oh deary, deary me…

People, please, take time to ponder
Before sending that hurtful message yonder
Don’t act so rashly, have empathy
Oh deary, deary me…
