Rev Out

Rev Out

Give that motor all it has got
Red line it out to the door
Engine screaming a lot
Gas pedal to the floor
Open up that V8 motor
Rev it out until it screams
You don’t have to worry about the law
Just let it fly as fast as your dreams
Off the dial with the Speedo
Hear that motor really roar
Nitro injected to let go
Open up the accelerator to the floor
‘til you see the tyres smoking
Flat out as fast as you can
Listen to that motor throbbing
Aren’t you feeling like a man
Hear that engine now singing
Every piston sending out its’ song
Relax while you are speeding
Towards the next thing to go wrong
You scream and cry as you watch your friend die.

Artist's Description

I hate fast cars, and wonder why governments allow them to be made to go so fast.

24th January 1975, I watched a friend, the driver, with his right arm ripped off at the shoulder, screaming, bleeding, almost die; while we tried to stop the bleeding. I didn’t notice that my left arm was severed to the bone at the elbow, and I almost bleed to death. We survived.
