Seeking Misplaced Faith

It is not hard to lose your faith
I a world that has gone mad
Everything there on your plate
All that would have made your grandparent sad

Crime on the streets and the police have no time
Too busy with their own to bother with your lot
Drugs and murder molesters and their crime
The coppers too want to know how much you have got

So how can the Creator be up there
Looking after all to ensure you believe
When usury and poverty are sold as fair
Where everyone turns a blind eye gets up to leave

It is hard to find your faith again
When it never seems to pay
When all around is suffering and pain
And all you can do is pray

Nothing seems to change anything
And a good man seems to suffer the worst
When corporate mobsters and gangsters can bring
All their attentions to get served first

When another child will starve and waste away
While a wealthy man gets fat and is praised
A worker earn in a life time what a banker makes in a day
A child born to suffer no matter how well they are raised

But I keep finding my faith in doubt
And see it in the tears shed by every man
Seeking I find it there and all about
And I continue to seek it where I can.

Artist's Description

A friend on RedBubble has been wrestling over faith; I do constantly, but find it again and again, seeking in doubt. Another one for Ty Beach.
