Ai Ching

I heard a song that said your name
Making fun of the words I had said
Reminding me I am the one to blame
For having lost you to my bed

If that is all you think that I wanted
Perhaps I wasn’t the only one who did not listen
Maybe you just took it all for granted
And thought that you would teach me a lesson

Yes I did want you and in my bed
And had said only if part of a relationship
Or was it that I was getting inside of your head
That made you turn away from even our friendship

It was you that rang me that night
To tell me that you would be leaving the next day
That they wouldn’t give you a key had given you a fright
And that they hadn’t been giving you the right pay

I saw you before they sent you back home overseas
Because you said that you wanted me there
It all struck me like an icy breeze
All to the sound of the music from elsewhere

When I came to see you back at your home
And you smiled when you introduced me to your family
I began to feel I would never again be alone
And you said me you could consider to marry

Then you tell me you have no time for me
And you want me to leave and go away
Was the pressure and passion not what you wanted it to be
Or was it someone else in your ear that day

So can you see why I got angry and said
All those things to upset you and make you cry
When you told me you had married and was in his bed
But that it wasn’t what you wanted on any day

You know how you felt about me and you
And even tried to have me accepted by your family
So what was it you wanted me to do
When you told me you had found another to marry

I still don’t know what to believe anymore
How can I believe that you are happy and in love
When you had told me the reasons you would marry for
And your love would not let a lie be placed there above

So can you see why I still try to find you
Sending messages to your father and brother
Trying to find out where you have gone to
And if you are really with another

So forgive me if I learnt how to say Wor Ai Nee
And truly do feel and know that I mean it
It is what you really wanted to be
And when you said the words you meant every bit
