My Fathers’ Thoughts I Think

So you’ve done it now
I could have told you how
You’d feel this moment
Now that your futures spent

Yes I wasn’t the best role model
How was I to know your not well
Should have seen you never speak
And now it’s my forgiveness you seek

I may find it to give one day
But it seems that I can’t find the words to say
You know you should have listened then
Your on your own again

Don’t blame me for your sin
Don’t ask me why I grin
If it wasn’t you I’d laugh
Your no son of mine not even half

Don’t give me more reason to cry
I knew in the end you’d make me sigh
Now I don’t want any more of your confession
I simply hope you’ve learnt your lesson

Artist's Description

Never make your confessions to your father. He will make more of them than they are. But I suppose that is his right. I made more of his than they deserved.
