The Netted Rhodotus, or Rhodotus palmatus, is the only member of it’s family. It is completely unique in so many ways…..and hard to find!
A rare beauty that is found in Kansas, USA more then any other location in the US….I always feel extremely blessed to find them.
This was found back in Sep. of 2012…..not sure why I never posted these.
They have a beautiful fruity smell to them…have a pale pink spore…pink gills…pink cap……….BUT..have a golden color ‘juice’ that comes out of the stem. The caps wrinkle when subjected to a wet/dry/wet/dry type of condition which gives it’s name Netted as it crinkles up into a net-like pattern.
