Artist's Description

Original mixed media art using acrylic, inks and watercolor. The paper was 140 lb aquarius which trhee coats of liquitex gloss were applied before putting the paints down. Netting, syran wrap, wax paper and many other “items” are then laid on the wet paint. When the paint is almost dry you remove the “items” leaving many unusual textures to work with. Then I personally just tape the painting to the wall and stare at it for the next month to a year (no kidding, this is hard for me) until I start seeing things. At that point I do a light gesso/varnish to block out sections and develop my vision from there – adding watercolor, inks, etc. to pull out the design. Areas are embossed with brass paint in different areas. (Mainly because I used a brass frame with brass beads and wanted to have them compliment each other. Once satisfied, several more coats of non-yellowing artist varnish are carefully applied. The outside edges on the original have tiny glass beads embedded in the white areas.
Each individual has their own interpretation of this piece – from an old clipper ship to a large abstract bouquet of flowers. See if you can find the faces, horses head, Jupiter, city, cat with red bow! Original embossed with brass paint in different areas. The outside edges on the original have tiny glass beads embedded in the white areas.
