Artist's Description

this is an original oil painting on canvas, 30×40 cm, depicting the artist’s impression of Fomalhaul’s debris disks.
Fomalhaut (Alpha Piscis Austrini, Alpha PsA, α Piscis Austrini, α PsA), is a class A star twice as massive and 20 times brighter as the Sun. It the brightest star in the costellation Piscis Austrinus.
This star is sometimes called the loneliest star, the lonely one, or the solitary one, because it is the only bright star in a large area of the sky.
Two planets are hypothesized to orbit around this star, because of the shape and number of the debris disks.

The exoplanet Fomalhaut b is sometimes called “zombie planet”, because it seemed to rise from the grave: first discovered in 2008, it was afterwards supposed to be a dust cloud and is now believed to be a planet with the weirdest orbit seen so far.
