abundance

The trees burst forth their bloom
branches generously throwing
their gifts away
Red flowers and berries
pop out of homes
to query the ground
then waste away
The seeds crack and split
to the earth
the flowers perfume the air
The birds call to all
to sing with them
or fly with feathered wings
The wind plays with hair and dresses
the sun warms sleeping skin
It’s a shame to be inside
denying the fun she brings
I stand beneath the fecund woman
giving life with pleasure
Amazed at how easily she shares her gifts
in languorous, laid back leisure

abundance
