Artist's Description

This is Lucy, a 2 year old Bengal that my husband and I rescued and are now fostering. She (and her bonded friend Simba) has been neglected, poorly fed, and she was kept locked in an attic..

When she arrived here all she would do is hide in a box outside. Her fur was very dry and coarse, although not as bad as Simbas’ as she probably caught mice and insects to eat, but she was also protein starved.

She is going to take a bit longer to heal, as her spirit was badly battered because of abuse. It took two days for her to venture into the house (we have an open air cat enclosure attached to the house), or to even come out of the box.

We introduced her to a grooming mitt and when she realised she wasn’t going to get abused, she purred so hard.

Here she is out of hiding enjoying some afternoon sun.

Any and all sales of this will go to her fostering bill (food, vet bills and other sundries)
