Marty is staying at my place for the afternoon. He was at the local vet college, which I live near. Marty is a mixed breed who is a ward of Quinte Humane Society in Belleville, Ontario, a shelter I’ve worked with for many years. They needed someone to pick Marty up and bring him to Toronto once he was released from the vet college.
Marty has a severe case of megaesophagus. He’s almost a skeleton, because his esophagus doesn’t work and he can’t keep anything down. He had a peg tube put directly into his stomach. Marty is lucky that he’s in a good shelter, being cared for by people who just love him. Even the vets talked about what a gentle, friendly guy he is. Sadly, his long-term prognosis isn’t good. He will be loved and cared for for how long he’s here for.
Here, Marty is fascinated by the people coming and going from the bus terminal across the street.
