Artist's Description

BEST VIEWED LARGER

Phantom Falls is a weather event that happens when the conditions are right. the mysterious phenomenon happens when heavy fog develops in the Megalong Valley as it lifts and flows over the Narrowneck Plateau that divides the valley from the Jamison Valley.

As the fog rolls over Narrow Neck into the Jamison Valley it forms a waterfall effect as it flows caused by air warmed by the sun in the jamison meeting the colder of the Megalong..
The falls can be 800 metres wide and 50 metres deep travelling 10-20 metres a second

Equipment Nikon D7000, 50-200 mm
