The Rocks has undergone many transformations, from a convict town to a burgeoning port city by the mid 1800s. The 1900s were a period of change and immense upheaval.

the construction of the city circle railway from the 1920s to the 1950s
the building of the Harbour Bridge in the 1920’s and early 30’s
the Cahill Expressway being built in the 1950s.
