In Mourning

Silent figuire full of grace,
All alone in this desolate place,
A mourning maiden strolling along,
Remembering the time it all went wrong.

Pausing by a grave as white as snow,
She spies in the woods a silent doe,
Watching her, a guardian, as she strolls along,
Remembering why it all went wrong.

Lost but not forgotten and never gone,
From her heart and second to none,
A tear trickles down her soft smooth cheek,
As she remembers the winter bleak.

The very first winter she was trully alone,
The letter that froze her to the bone,
The month before when he went to fight,
The day he died in the dead of night.
