The blesbok (Damaliscus pygargus phillipsi) is one of the most handsome of Southern African antelope. Caught in the early morning light, it’s beautifully burnished hide glows with a lusterous sheen. Being partial to open savannah and typically totally avoiding woodland, I was delighted to capture this beautiful male as he fed in the open ground on the edge of the woodland.
