Wicker Chair

I stepped up to the old gate
from below the rocky path
hinges had but one screw
hanging rusty on its half.

A swing or wind
not mighty
would drop it to the ground
it creaked and groaned
as slowly it made it’s squealing sound.

Into the garden filled and grown
spilling everywhere
flowers in their clumps
fragrance for the share.

Her chair was made of wicker
she sat so quietly
waiting for the visit
her heart she longed to see.

Such wonder is a welcome
anticipation’s smile
for sit and talk, embrace
and feel for just this while.

Oh how I miss her beauty
her reach so very deep
she pulled my heart in tightly
and welcomed me for keeps.
