I Can

Sometimes I need to be alone
where all is quiet and I can think.
I can mix up all my troubles and
slowly pour them down the sink.

I can listen to advice from the wind
or relate to the music I play so loud.
I can stare at old photographs
or gaze at a wandering cloud.

I can write down my thoughts
for noone to ever see.
I can sing my poor heart out
when its simply me.

I can dwell on the past that will never change.
I can cry out a thousand tears.
I can think about my mom and dad.
and the fun we had in my younger years.

I can think of the sweet and sour of death.
As well as people who’ve changed my life.
About what if tomorrow never comes,
About all my sorrow, struggle, and strife.

Yea, sometimes I need to be alone.
So, please just let me be.
Dont ever try to choose my life,
and never try to change me.
