Artist's Description

View from Capel-Le-Ferne in Kent, UK over the 350feet drop into The Warren with Folkestone in the distance with the harbour and East Wear Bay in between.

Subject to a serious landslip in 1915 this wild and rugged area is home to many portected species including orchids and butterflies some of which exist nowhere else on earth.

Above the tunnel in the background the first addits for the channel tunnel attempt in the 1920’s and for many years the boring machine laid abandoned in the cliff here. It has now been preserved.

Before the World War II artillery platforms the small (or not so small when you are next to it) headland in the centre called the Horses Head was immediately on the beach.

5 exposure HDR from single RAW file shot on a Canon EOS1000D and processed in PS8.
