Aboard the Brig Niagara, 17 September 2012, while sailing on Lake Erie off Buffalo, NY. This wooden ship, based in Erie, PA, is a restoration or replica of the 1813 vessel that played a key role in Perry’s victory in the Battle of Lake Erie.
