Artist's Description

Sakura Mircon Pigma felt tip ultrafine pen and Derwent linemaker fine line pens with archival pigment inks on acid free Strathmore series 400 drawing paper. Hand drawn with no computer involvement. 4×6 inches

Templates and a compass were used in combination with freehand ultrafine details to create a unique aesthetic of interacting patterns, different length scales, and concentric circles, intersecting circles, embedded circles and lots of circles.

Almost, but not quite, a diagram of the planetary system around a star. Planetary Nursery is complicated to artist’s allusions to how these orbits and orbiting bodies came to be. Was it a ghostly lost planet visitor that rearranged the mass in the system? accretion of particles from a gas cloud? Other internal processes? An artists imagining – not at all precise, but suggestive of real phenomena
