I have taken the plunge and decided to have a look at Apophysis after seing the amazing work by Mandy Moore in particular her work Memories I have at the moment no idea how you would create something like this using Apophysis but it is inspiring to look at her work.

Thanks Red Bubble

I must say it will be good if/when I start to sell some t-shirts or prints.

I was happy to see that a few of my t-shirt designs made it into the popular list.
I wonder if most new work ends up there or not?

It’s also nice to get positive feedback from other red bubblers.

Since I joined Red Bubble about a week ago I have produced some 80 new fractals which as been good. It’s been a few years since I had a good solid session at the computer. My last exhibition was in 2001 so it was time to get back to the drawing board so to speak.

So thanks Red Bubble for giving me the inspiration.

Ultra Fractal 5.01

I have been a fan of Ultra Fractal since version 2 and today I upgraded to version 5. It cost me AU$105 to upgrade from version 4.01. There are a few nice new features.

I may have missed the ability to network version 4 but with version 5 you can run a server program on one or more other computers and share the load of rendering images across a number of processors.

After about 1/2 an hour of mucking around I have got this to work and it’s going to be interesting. I have access to a lab of computers at work and I may be able to run the server program on 20+ machines at once which would make for some very fast render times :-)

Time will tell if this will work or even be worth the effort but I am looking forward to trying it at least once.
