Motcombe Gardens

Beneath this cloudy, rain laden sky, might Neptune resides.
Looking forlorn over his lost trident, the wind carries his cries.

Ducks glide effortlessly on the pond. fluttering for a while, momentarilty disturbing the peace the timeless tranquility.

A goldfish, the size of a size eleven shoe, kisses the air to breathe.

A solitary, shaky leaf, lifeless and dry, falls in the breeze, landing on the settled water.

A robin is perched in the mullberry tree – heaven bless for this flash of red!

Soon the mullberry tree will be dressed again, and Eden’s children will happily climb branches in summer, gorging themselves on her sweet, pink fruit.

Beyond the flint walls, the old church stands proud,
Where only the faithful listen, in contemplative bow.

An ancient spring, beneath the pond, trickles down like blood clogged in an old man’s artery.

Nearby, a teenager sends a text; the church bells chime; a child falls off his bike.
Now it’s time for me to go…
