I love this technique of leaving the less important parts of the image sketchy, and was influenced early on by Toulouse-Lautrec and Degas.

One of my early influences was Toulouse-Lautrec, a master of the Impression. I always loved the way he left the unimportant bits unfinished and concentrated on his focus of attention.

I’m thrilled that this painting won Best Oil Painting under $1200 at St Kevins Art Show 2008.
It was also a finalist in the Impressionist Group challenge ‘My Favourite Work, and was voted winner in the Impressionist Art group challenge ’From the Master’. It was also featured in the Red Bubble group Fine Art approaches to Figure and Face.
