Where is His Country?

Where is his country?
Where are his rights?
He is hungry,
Not sleeping at night.

He knows to keep moving,
Or the enemy will see,
No time for brooding
When you are a refugee.

Where is his mother,
Father, sister and aunt?
Left with the others
In one of those camps.

He follows the pack,
Where are they headed?
Must stay on track,
Today he was to be wedded.

His bride has gone missing,
Not seen for days,
He is only guessing,
That they’ve taken her away.

Still he keeps walking
Across Africa, more camps,
But, food, water and shelter.
Months he’ll wait for a chance.

Where is His Country?
