This photograph was taken at Urupukapuka Island, on a day where the conditions of sky and sea turned everything blue.
This is the gaff-rigged schooner R. Tucker Thompson, named after the builder who unfortunately died before she was completed. She was built at Mangawhai, North Island, New Zealand and is now based at Opua, close to my home in the Bay of Islands. The vessel was completed by the son and the building was a story in itself !
Now operated by a charitable trust which undertakes youth sail training courses as well as day pleasure trips for tourists

FUJI S6500 at 25mm, 1/500, f/7.1, iso 100, manual.
