The Harvard or Texan is one of the best known training aircraft in the military world from WW2 to well into the 60’s. Many are still flying in private hands.
There were 15,495 of these aircraft built – following is the list of just a few Air Forces which used this iconic plane.
USAF, US Navy, RAF, RCAF, South African Airforce, Israel, Greece, France, Portugal, Spain, Pakistan and India.
They were also pressed into service for combat duties, used as spotting aircraft, light bombers and ground attack by the Israeli Airforce in the 1948 Arab/Israeli war and later in the Sinai Campaign.
Other campaigns – the Greek Civil War, Korean War, Vietnam and the French/Algerian War plus other conflicts.
